Gina Stormont

Nothing breaks a mother like watching her child suffer. That child was Elizabeth, A Different Mind's founder. At an early age, Elizabeth’s insistence on needing help sparked a journey highlighting the need for openness and unapologetically owning one’s realities. Elizabeth’s bravery paved the way for Gina to seek help for her own struggles with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. Gina thinks of all the people she knows— some still undiagnosed either by circumstance, lack of means, shame, or misunderstanding— that suffer in silence. No one should be forced to endure their challenges alone, without proper care and understanding.
In addition to being the mother of our founder, Gina is a Brooklyn-based financial advisor with over 20 years of experience helping caregivers and breadwinners get their complex financial lives in order. She is passionate not only about her work but also about how she contributes to her clients, their families, and society at large.
Gina has contributed to MDRT’s Round the Table and Financial News Digest and has been a featured speaker and moderator on practice management and financial literacy. Volunteer roles include being on the planning committee for MDRT’s national 2024 Edge conference and co-leader of the US and Canada MDRT Foundations’ Gives Day 2024. Gina also has a history of being an active community member, in the past having held several roles in various PTA’s, including President, Vice President, Marketing Chair, and Arts Chair, and having directed 2 elementary school plays.
When she is not being an agent for good, Gina can be found enjoying and participating in the vibrancy of her native New York City’s arts, culture and food scenes with her friends, family, and dogs.
